Chiang Mai Airport is the main airport in Northern Thailand. The city of Chiang Mai is popular with travellers who want to visit the north of Thailand and those seeking to escape the hustle and bustle of Bangkok. In departures facilities are decent. But one you check in everything is a hassle. Poor facilities, big queues, lifting heavy cases into scanners, primitive lounge.

Absolutely horrible airport, if you are flying international you can't buy any water or food, the check-in is extremely slow. All in all the worst airport I have ever been in.
