Serious advice:
get better friends - Anonymous

EVERY time I play something with my friends they rush through it so fricking fast it's unbelievable. I'm here to enjoy the game, not beat it as fast as possible. I literally won't play something with them anymore if I'm going in blind and they've played before.

People have different priorities.
Some just want a passtime.
Some want a medium for socialization.
Some want an immersive experience for escapism.
Vidya can offer all those things. Just depends how you use.
Instead of expecting your current friends to play like you, find people that do. Your current friends clearly play games for a different reason than you do.- Anonymous

The way they are playing games is a perversion of entertainment, hyper competitive speedrunning of a game like Terraria when you're playing with friends is next level fricking autism.

Terraria doesn't offer enough of a reason to slow down and take your time.
>building
More block types are available the further into the game you get, and you can also obtain resources faster.
>exploration
Unless it's your first time playing the game, you will have a general idea of what is available in which biome, so it turns into a game of crossing items off of a checklist until you've exhausted that biome of the items you want.
Once you beat the moon lord it makes sense that people would want to move on to a different game since there's nothing left to do aside from building which many people don't enjoy or collecting everything which serves no point since you already beat the final boss.
Minecraft on the other hand is a pretty good multiplayer game. Beating the end dragon isn't actually the end of the game since there's still the end islands to explore. Aside from that, building can serve an actual purpose aside from looking nice (though by being 3d buildings are naturally more impressive). Redstone also offers a lot more as a electricity system than wires. An almost infinite world also means that your group won't run out of areas to explore if that's your thing.
Both games also vastly benefit from modding, Terraria can lean into the metroidvania style progression and upgrading gear to fight bosses while Minecraft can focus on the exploration or building complex machinery.- Anonymous

It's not minecraft, just bring your character and your loot to a new world in hard mode or master mode, now with access to all the blocks to build what you wantAnonymous Alright, let's say that all of your friends agree to do that. Now you have maxed out characters with gear appropriate for the moon lord in a pre-hardmode world. What is there to do aside from rush through the bosses again? Everything in the world is inferior to the gear you brought in, so there's no point in exploring. You can bring in blocks as well, so no point in mining for stuff either. At that point all there is to do is building, which Minecraft handles much better.

3 weeks? you're asking them to wait on you for 3 weeks? that's a long time
plus it's a video game dude just join in later. not like you'd keep up with them anyway because you play slow and they play fastBeen waiting to play that game almost 6 months. Been telling them that I wanted to play it several times.
But they only wanted to play that Chinese MOBA over and over again. And now that I can't they do because theyre missing their 5th buddy for their premade- Anonymous

there is nothing wrong with playing terraria in a competitive mindset
blame the game design not being focused on being a true sandbox

It's okay I don't mind it. But downright speed running it and never doing stuff like some events, or actually wanting to do something meaningful other than boss and dump feels souless

Anon, that's just how terraria is, you farm, get stronger, kill bosses, at best you can be base b***h while they play the game.
Consider minecraft, since there's no real progression, the content is roaming around doing nothing.- Anonymous

His point is that you don't need to meta-game the fun out of progression. morons will follow a guide on the exact gear and weapons to leapfrog to the next set of gear and weapons to get to hard mode and instantly ruin the world with multiple different corruptions that can delete entire biomes. Anon just wants to fricking play the game instead of rushing to boredom.

Nobody said anything about meta-gaming the sh*t out of it, just following progression, wtf do you want them to do? sit around and wait a few days before killing another boss?

That anon explicitly said he does not want to:
>downright speed running it and never doing stuff like some events
He's saying people turn the game into a boring Diablo 2 clone where you rush to max level to kill things that mean nothing to you so you can stack items that mean nothing to you. He wants to do events that, as this anonThat's a problem with the game. There's no real reason to do the pirate invasion unless it naturally spawns. Wings are good enough for all bosses, so unless someone is playing as a summoner there's no point to the pumpkin moon. Even more so with the frost moon since there's no armor set or accessories from it, just weapons.
said "have no real reason to do" by his meta-game-y reasoning.
>sit around and wait a few days before killing another boss?
Unironically you should probably kill no more than 2 seperate unique bosses a day. You're not even exploring their biomes or utilizing their drops otherwise.- Anonymous

I should also clarify if you don't play on Expert Master you're wasting your time in a dress-up sim with mediocre housing.

>Some events
95% of the events are combat, you are stacking/mining/farming items to do combat, you are doing combat to kill bosses, that's the game
Every event has something useful, if they are really meta-gaming they would be doing them, even frickin parties.
>Kill no more than 2 unique bosses a day
Jesus christ.

Based friends. They very obviously didn't want to play that bloated slop with you (as seen by them rushing it), but they hunkered down and did it anyway.
Maybe trying playing what your friends want to play every once in a while instead of being such a selfish piece of sh*t. - Anonymous
